GoPro application (Android/iOS/Windows)
The first GoPro app to consider is definitely the GoPro App, which allows you to control the camera remotely. It allows you to preview photos and videos, share your favorite content. And also, delete excess files to free up memory in GoPro memory.
It is available for free for Android, iOS and Windows 10 mobile devices. And it is compatible with GoPro Fusion, HERO6, HERO5, HERO4, HERO Session, HERO3 +, HERO3 and HERO + cameras.
To use the GoPro app, you must create a free account. After installing and starting the app, hit the Create Account button. And hit the Connect with a Facebook button to connect your social account to the GoPro app.
Otherwise, enter your details in the Email Address and Password fields. And check the box to accept the terms and conditions of use and the privacy policy. And also touch the Create account button. In a few instants, you will receive an email with an activation link. Press the Account Verification item and registration will be completed.
At the first start of the application, you will be asked to connect your device to your camera: necessary procedure to exploit the full potential of the GoPro application.
Then press the Connect a camera button, select your GoPro model by choosing from HERO6 Black, Fusion, HERO5 Black, Session HERO5, Session HERO, HERO +, Hero4 and HERO3 + / 3/2, turn on your camera and follow the tutorial of connection between the two devices (which varies depending on the GoPro in your possession).
If you don’t have your camera available right now, tap Voice maybe later to connect later. By pressing the camera icon present in the upper left corner, you can start the setup procedure whenever you want.
Once you’ve connected and synced content, using the GoPro app is easy. On the home screen, tap the camera name to remotely control it. So you can choose the perfect frame, adjust shooting settings, and start new recordings with just a few taps.
All movies made with GoPro and saved QuikStories will be visible on the main GoPro app screen while pressing the gear wheel icon at the top right. You can manage your account and app settings.
In particular, by tapping on the QuickStory item you can enable or disable Car Mode, which allows, if active, to automatically copy the latest videos and photos to create a QuickStory whenever smartphones and GoPro are connected to each other. This function is only compatible with HERO6 and HERO5 cameras.
To manage your content, press instead of the square icon placed in the menu below. And tap the item all choose what to show photo, video, clips, highlight, and 360 ° Content.
Select the content of your interest and press the button identified by an arrow inside a square you can share photos and movies on Instagram, Facebook, twitter SMS or e-mail, while pressing the basket you can delete the content, making space in the GoPro directly from your smartphone.
Finally, you can press the Q button present in the menu below to start Quik, another application for GoPro, which I will talk about in the next paragraphs.

Quik (Android/iOS)
Another app for GoPro to install on your smartphone is Quik, available for Android and iOS devices. It is a tool that permits you to edit videos made with GoPro. And those available in the gallery of the device in use, with the possibility of creating short videos (in social format) from scratch and applying preset themes, such as audio and video effects.
To start editing your videos with Quik, launch the application (the white and blue Q) present on the home screen of your device.
And press the allow photo access button to enable Quik to access the photo gallery of your smartphone or tablet.
Now tap on the + button to import the videos and photos to use in your timeline project, then select the files that interest you and hit the add item.
To make changes to the imported files, touch the screen and press the pencil icon, then press one of the menu items: text to add text to the movie; clear to remove the project file; highlight to mark particular moments within the video; crop to cut part of the film.
Once the changes are complete, hit the good button to return to the previous screen, where you can further customize the video by applying one of the available themes.
Finally, press the wrench icon to set the format (cinema or square) duration and Music start and, at the end of the changes, touch the Save button.
Then choose if you want to share the movie on WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, SMS or e-mail. Otherwise, press the Photo Gallery option to export the movie to the roll of your device.
Passenger (Android/iOS)
Owners of a GoPro Karma drone can consider a passenger, an application that, as its name indicates. It allows you to transform into a drone passenger. And see Karma filming in real-time, with the possibility of having full control of the camera. It is available for Android and iOS devices.
To get onboard the drone, download the Passenger app on your mobile device, then ask the Karma pilot to activate the feature. To do this, press and then hold the push button on the Karma main screen.
Press the Connect item and touch the passenger option. Then move the lever from OFF to EN related to passenger and write down the passenger name and password visible on the screen.
Now on your device, go to Wi-Fi Settings, tap on passenger name and enter the password displayed right now, then launch the Passenger app and swipe up to start enjoying Karma pictures.
More Apps for GoPro
In addition to the solutions previously proposed and developed by GoPro, there are also other GoPro apps that you can consider.
Some allow you to import videos recorded with the camera and create custom movies, others even to automatically create videos with a motion analysis function. Here is a list of the most interesting ones.
